Meet Dr. Payal Patel Ghayal
Hello, I'm Dr. Payal—board-certified pediatrician, integrative medicine physician, and parent coach. At Integrative Health for Kids, I provide exceptional care to children and families seeking a unique, holistic approach that combines effective treatments from both conventional and complementary medicine.
More than anything, I'm a mom living in Los Angeles with my extremely active and curious boys who truly understands what it feels like to navigate ADHD, both personally and within our family.
My Personal Journey with ADHD
For years, I thought everyone's mind worked like mine—constantly buzzing with thoughts, needing to move to think clearly, struggling to focus during long meetings despite being genuinely interested. I pushed through medical school, residency, and built a successful pediatric practice, all while managing what I now know were classic ADHD traits.
It wasn't until my own children began showing similar patterns that everything clicked. Suddenly, my lifelong experiences made sense, and I realized I wasn't alone in this journey.
This personal awakening changed everything about how I practice medicine and support families.
Why This Work Became My Calling
Discovering my own ADHD as an adult was both validating and heartbreaking. Validating because so much of my life suddenly made sense. Heartbreaking because I realized how many years I'd spent thinking something was wrong with me, rather than understanding how my brain simply worked differently.
I don't want today's children and families to walk that same path of confusion and self-doubt.
When I see a child struggling in my office—fidgeting in their chair, unable to sit still, or a parent at their wit's end after another difficult school meeting—I see myself. I see my own children. And I'm reminded why this work matters so deeply to me.
Every family deserves to understand that ADHD brains aren't broken—they're just different. And with the right support, these differences can become genuine strengths.
My Philosophy: Healing the Whole Child
Having lived with ADHD and raised children who are navigating it too, I've learned that successful support goes far beyond medication or behavior charts. It requires understanding the whole child within their whole family system—utilizing every possible source to achieve optimal results.
My holistic approach combines methods that have been around for centuries with cutting-edge, evidence-based medicine. I have particular expertise in mind-body medicine, nutrition, and comprehensive care for a diverse variety of conditions, with specialized focus on ADHD, anxiety, sleep, and behavioral challenges.
At Integrative Health for Kids, I bring together:
Evidence-based medicine that honors both conventional and complementary approaches
Practical daily-life solutions for sleep, nutrition, emotional regulation, and family harmony
Deep empathy for what families actually experience day-to-day
Parent support because I know firsthand that when parents feel confident and supported, children thrive
Every family receives personalized care that accounts for every aspect of who they are, because healing and optimal health is our ultimate goal.

Safe, personalized guidance on supplements, nutrition, and lifestyle changes
Realistic strategies that work for busy, real-life families

Beyond Medicine: Living Life on My Terms
When I'm not caring for patients, you'll find me living life fully with my boys—dancing the night away, traveling anywhere tropical, gardening and baking together, and sharing insights through podcasting. I believe in living life on my own terms, including the way medicine heals, and I bring that same philosophy to supporting families in finding their own path to wellness.
Why Families Choose to Work With Me
Parents often find me when they're feeling stuck—they've tried traditional approaches but sense something is still missing. They're looking for a doctor who:
Listens without rushing and truly understands their daily challenges
Offers safe, evidence-based options beyond just medication
Supports the whole family, not just the child with ADHD
Provides hope and practical tools for creating calmer, happier daily life
Gets it personally because I've been where they are
